Finding ones self in an unfamiliar situation is part of growing up, especially if that place and time is 3:02am on a Sunday morning in one of the many laneways dotted across the city. Much alike the titled being in Jesse Davidson's latest single Laika, his first individual release since last years debut EP Oceans.
Just one Russian space dog, with absolutely no idea how she got to where she was going, being one of the first animals venturing into the harsh reality of space.
Working with London based producer Jake Miller for Laika (Miller having worked previous with Jungle Giants, The Preatures and The Medics), has seen Jesse's sound move out of the comfort and intimacy of the bedroom, and out into a larger studio sound.
Accompanying the release of Laika, Jesse Davidson will be hitting the road over the next couple weeks before an expected May release for his sophomore EP. Perhaps just in time for a spot on the Splendour In The Grass lineup? We'll just have to wait and see.
Jesse will be playing at The Exeter Hotel on Saturday March 7th as part of his Laika tour, featuring his three piece band, and good mates of his Brokers as the supporting act. Tickets available via moshtix here.
