Editorial by Meg Tucker
The master behind part rap-electronic-pop goodness and Adelaide botanical garden lover, Tkay Maidza, has just finished Laneway Festival, been awarded “best new artist” at Rolling Stone Australia awards and released a new single - and she’s not slowing down any time soon.
Tkay is about to tour her new single M.O.B which is inspired by Danny Brown and Kendrick Lamar. The feel good tune is a letter to her future self about her dreams to achieve great things. With the catchy chorus “money over bitches” Tkay sends out the message to keep working hard over the bitches in life whatever they may be. Her lightening fast versus make it hard to fully comprehend the lyrical genius behind the beat, luckily for us mere mortals you can also read the lyrics here;
Its no surprise that the first round of tickets to Melbourne and Sydney M.O.B shows have already sold. With more dates added to keep up with high demand and a warning from Tkay herself that Adelaide and Brisbane are on their way out too, expect full rooms buzzing with good energy right from the get-go .Big support acts UV Boi and “Joy”, 17 year old Olivia McCarthy, (who is sadly not appearing at the Adelaide show) are locked in so - you would be crazy not to buy tickets early.
