A walk. A stroll. A jog. A sprint. Finishing with John Bender thrusting his triumphant fist in the air. The Serra will pull you higher as the sound reaches that burning crescendo you've been yearning for. Relaxing their progressive sound following last years demo, Proof of Concept, has lead to a catchier rock direction for the band in the lead up to their much anticipated debut EP Indigo.
Originally a four-piece known as Fable, the addition of percussionist Ashley Miller called for a renewed approach to the band and their music. Thus The Serra emerged.
Still a relatively young band, The Serra has gathered a strong following on various social media to go with a Top 20 finish (11th overall) in last years' Big Day Out Headspace Competition. It is milestones like these that have spurred to band on, growing their presence in the booming Adelaide local scene.
Following the release of their demo Proof of Concept late last year, 2014 for the band has been littered with gigs alongside booming local talents (including The Aves, black coral & Moonfaker) and studio time recording their debut EP Indigo.
The official launch party for Indigo is Saturday 9th of August at Producers Bar (The Old Exchange) alongside another group of booming artists Valkyries, Jungle City and Orelia. For full details head here.
