So we're all froffing at the gut to see our favourite bands at this years St. Jeromes Laneway Festival. And we're already keen as a motherfucking bean to get back to several Laneway Afterparties happening across the city on Friday night. But there is also a whole tonne of wicked shows happening across the city this weekend and we will be smashing a bunch of them!
COBRA PRESENTS: VOLUME XI
Thursday night club night, voted one of our top club nights for 2015, is back on again at Ancient World with an ace as all hell lineup. Mates of ours Larsen will be celebrating their first year as a band, renowned local favourites Inwoods will be there, Swirl Records up and comers Goon Wizard and rounding out the show will be the Czuchwicki Brothers Blues Band.
BURIED FEATHER @ The Metro & GRACE EMILY
In the coolest beer garden slash bedroom on the west end of town, Melbourne baddies Buried Feather will be bringing their tour into town with a hell of a support cast in garage stompers Battlehounds and smooth waves of DRUID FLUIDS. Backing up the show again the Saturday night, The Dunes will be joining the band on stage with a second show on at the Grace Emily.
Follow North East Road, past the Tea Tree Gully hotel and into the scenic Adelaide Hills and you will arrive at Houghtonfest! Hosted initially last year as a fundraiser for the Sampson Flat Bushfire that threatened many local homes, this year the festival has grown to include activites for the whole family including many of Adelaide's finest bands. For those of you who are fans of The Beards, be sure to make the trip if you want to see them before they hang up the boots at the end of the year.
Jungle City & Friends @ Crown & Anchor
Keep on charging through the weekend with an excellent gig at the home of cheap dark ales. Alongside Canberra outfit Foreign Kings as they tour the country supporting their debut EP, Jungle City, House of Jade and Young Offenders will be tearing the shit out of that stage with some high energy, good ol fashioned rock and roll.
Walking With Thieves @ Bridgeway Hotel
Playing their first (of hopefully many) shows across this year, Walking With Thieves are back with Art of Escape and HIVEMIND smashing into Saturday night at the Bridgeway Hotel in Adelaide's north. Also coming across for the show will be Epiphany from Melbourne and guaranteed 100% likelihood of being covered in beer and sweat by the end of the show. If that's your thing. Which we hope it is.
