Here at The Bakehouse, we can be mistaken for taking a more relaxed approach to things and enjoying a good night of music and banter, but from time to time we do do that business thing and are out and about checking Adelaide's scene to keep our finger on the pulse. Over the last few months we've kept an eye on the new(ish) talent flourishing in our city. Here are a few picks on the cusp of breaking out this year (or continuing to break through that ceiling).

So we're all froffing at the gut to see our favourite bands at this years St. Jeromes Laneway Festival. And we're already keen as a motherfucking bean to get back to several Laneway Afterparties happening across the city on Friday night. It's the first week back of 2016 and sitting around in the office is soul draining enough without having to do it after an apocalyptic-ally good holiday period. We need an escape and thanks to the booming music industry here, there is a hell of a lot of good gigs to get out and see this week!

Last year, 2015 was massive. Adelaide bands began to break through nationally, we saw a shit tonne of epic releases, more shows, more events, a real sense of community had come out of the space of twelve months. It has been fucking incredible. We had a look back on our favourite shows, favourite releases, and the next crop of artists ready to kill it in our fair city. For those of you who missed out on last months all day Vision Festival at Jive, the event was setup and run by COBRA Presents founder and drummer for COBRA, Jonty Czuchwicki. For the first weekend in November, the prog-slash-noise-slash-hard rock have set themselves an audacious mini-tour thorughout our fair city.
